Post-Holiday Bargains for the Entire Year

0

The holidays are behind us once again, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been on the hunt for rock-bottom clearance bargains in your favorite stores. No, I’m not talking about those 75-percent-off boxes of holiday cards or ornaments for next year’s tree (though I did find an awesome lime-green sequined Christmas stocking for my daughter for $3). I’m on the lookout for products I can resell in the coming months—and the bigger the discount, the better!

Stores stock up on “gifty” types of products for the holidays, and when that festive time of year is over, those products need to be moved out ASAP to make room for spring merchandise. So along with huge discounts on wrapping paper and LED lights, you can also find perfume sets, fuzzy robes, slippers and jewelry sets at bargain-basement prices. These make great gifts to resell for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or—if you have the room to store them that long—even the next Christmas holiday season.

I tend to watch a couple of my favorite stores for their final winter clearance sales, where I can sometimes snatch up perfume and cologne sets for up to 90 percent off. You can also find winter coats, hats, gloves, NFL apparel and accessories (for teams that don’t make the Super Bowl), and more. Trust me, there’s always something available if you know when and where to look.

I just sold a designer pair of ski pants and a down jacket that I bought during last year’s post-holiday retail purge, and netted a hefty profit on both. I bought the jacket at Kohl’s at more than 90 percent off, and I found the ski pants at TJ Maxx at an even bigger discount.

So get out there and start bargain hunting! There’s money to be made in them there stores!
